I had a most interesting conversation with a pharmacist friend. He said that with the changes in FDA regs, MANY insurance companies will now cover the cost of special diets for children under 2 with serious health problems. He said that it is on an individual basis as to whether insurance companies cover it, but that medicaid defenitively does. The special food must be prescribed by an md.
So, check with YOUR insurance company to see if it is covered and complian loudly if it is not.
btw,,,complaints against any insurance company, bank, lending svc should be made to the Dept of Insurance in your state. Since they license the various companies, a letter from them makes the companies hop to very quickly.
