Great story of being malleable and how little things can turn into big
reminders of scripture and god's will. Can't think of any like situations
off hand but will defrag my brain later and see.

on 12:08 AM 5/9/2006, Vicki and the Rors said:

Saturday I went to a water aerobics class. I took our local Para transit

Service to get there. I was pretty convinced by the tone of the
conversation in the van

That my driver wasn't a professing Christian. He was nice enough, but if
I could

Describe him with one word just based on casual observation, I would have
labeled

Him as hard-shelled. Of course, we run in to people in our daily paths
each

Day who aren't Christians, so nothing new about that. I didn't speak with

Him about the Lord as I didn't feel led to do so. Quite frankly, it never
crossed

my mind. I don't happen to have the gift of evangelism, though that isn't

an excuse for any of us. But as I said, it didn't cross my mind and I

didn't feel led in that direction. We talked about the Cinco de Mayo

traffic, the weather and a few others pass the time type topics. We
rounded

the corner taking sharp turns in to the parking lot, and he began to

maneuver that vehicle in to a parking spot to drop me off near the gym

entrance. When I reached down and grabbed my gym bag I noticed I had

forgotten my bottle of water. I casually commented about it, with a hint
of laughter

in my voice. He asked me what I was going to do

about forgetting it. I responded that there was a whole pool of water in
there should I

need some. I told him there was always the drinking fountain too if I was

really seriously interested, and that it just wasn't a big deal. In my
mind,

I thought, "I never drink out of drinking fountains." "And that
disgusting

pool water certainly doesn't count for drinking substance, unless of
course

by accident, one gets a mouth full of the nasty tasting stuff." I
obviously didn't voice my thoughts.

As I reached for the handrail to descend the steps of the van, instead of

Finding the hand rail, there was a bottle of cold water firmly placed in
my hand. I

explained that it really wasn't necessary for me to have it, and for him
to keep it. He

replied that he had three other bottles. Nothing would do but that I
should take it. He

told me it was unopened and that it was Kroger's brand. Feeling quite

embarrassed, I offered to pay him for it which he didn't accept. So I
thanked him and hurriedly left the van. I showed my id at the counter and
headed toward the women's locker room hardly giving a thought to the cold
water given to me by the stranger.

I was just inside the locker room door when a voice thundered in my head
the words, "And if you give even a cup of cold water to one of the least
of my

followers, you will surely be rewarded." (Matthew 10 verse 42,
NLT) WHILE A CAREFUL STUDY OF THIS VERSE AND SURROUNDING VERSES WILL
MORE FULLY EXPAND THE full MEANING AND APPLICATION< I was abruptly
reminded of the act of kindness done to me by the van driver, and how
Jesus views seemingly small actions. In that moment I asked the Lord to
bless him for his kindness and prayed for his salvation. Had this not
happened as it did, I most likely would not have prayed for this person's
salvation at all.

Wonder what God incidents have happened to others of you that have caused
you to specifically pray.

And by the way, don't ask me if my water aerobics cause me pain and agony
the next day.
