In a word yes. (But) a drive is "better" when used in the machine it was
set up on due to slight differences in the LBA translation, etc...
Most times it works just fine...

Get a USB case with a fan if you can. Not too important with a drive
that old... (They ran slow and cool...)

Don't bang it around too much, especially when it is running...
THe design life for most drives is 5 years. After that you want to handle
them with kid gloves.

I'd like to install the HD from a nonfunctional 95 machine in a USB case for
a XPPro machine - at least to transfer its files.
Will this work?
If so, what steps should this relative newbie take to do this?
Any problems to watch out for for extended use (beyond transferring its
files)?
