That's an oversimplification. There is a difference (not that either one
of them is worth eating):
Half a cup of sugar: 337 calories, no protein, no fat, 100g carbs (100g
sugars)
Half a 4" bagel: 115 calories, 4.5g protein, 0.5g fat, 22.5g carbs (1g
fiber, 2g sugars)
