A little wierd to go from the seriousness of the Vatican situation to a story listing the number killed, maimed, and decapitated by this terrible situation in VT, all blamed on the low-carb diet fad.
"...and trees to tap before they sleep..."
I liked the expert in Arboreal Thermodynamics from the University of Northeastern Central Vermont, Southwestern campus and the Vanabosian father yelling at his daughter (in English) to get back to work boiling down the maple furniture (to make "table syrup") "...and tell that actor doing your voice in English to get out of here."
You keep your head down up there, y'hear Ruth?

subject: emergency conditions in Green Mountains because of drop in maple syrup consumption has reduced harvesting sap, leading to deadly explosions of maple trees, which can "be heard 20 miles away". complete with interviews with bereaved "a-yuh" natives, "vintage recordings" of 1930's explosions, the "Vermont Maple Museum" which collects recordings of schoolchildren being instructed by rhyme ".... the trees will die, and blow their brains into the sky", etc.
drop in real maple syrup production caused by imitation syrup imported from "Vanabos", in the south pacific, made under slave labor conditions.
