HI Phil and listers,
THanks for a fun read Phil. I'm an Iowa kid just a bit
younger.
bet you know Len, now a silent key, I believe wa0odh in
those days, became k0ek. YOu probably also know Mary that
he hung with, then was wa0dag, now k0yl. Mary's currently
stm for IOwa.
DOn't know why you didn't like af0h, it's not a bad cw call.
tHere are better, but that one isn't too bad. I like mine
for cw, a fairly good rhythm to it.
I had the old hq-180 when I was in high school thanks to an
uncle. NIce receiver. SAw one in cherry condition, at
least the cabinetry and looked inside. THe electronics
looked good and it was real clean. GUy wanted $400 for it.
IF I would have had the $400 it would have gone home with
me.
