When I was using a Toshiba laptop as my only computer for the better part of 
a year, I simply bought a full-function USB keyboard and plugged it into one 
of the USB ports on the laptop. I personally hate both laptop keyboards in 
general and the absence of a numeric keypad, so this was the best option for 
me.

Hi Tom, my favorite way to regain the capabilities of a full size
keyboard with a laptop, is to buy a numpad that plugs in to your USB port
giving you back the numpad for screenreader fuctions.  I know that both
Window-eyes and Jaws have laptop layouts, but I prefer the external
numpad,  so I have full keyboard access just as if I were using the big
machine!  GRIN!
