the TNC on the D700 isn't as much for tradditional packet as it is for APRS
and sky command for the ts-2000
Most people that buy the d700 use it for APRS anyway.
The one nice thing about the d700 is that its a bit more mobile friendly
then the other rigs...rubberized buttons, heavy duty controls and all that.
