There is a redevelopment threat to the Quigley Seminary here in Chicago,
on Rush Street between Delaware and Pearson. This is a religious (R.C.) complex
that includes a chapel which is evidently inspired by Sainte-Chapelle in Paris.
The architect of record is Zachary Taylor Davis of Chicago
(best known for the late Comiskey Park and also Wrigley Field)
but there is also involvement of Gustave (E.) Steinback of New York.

I first tried Google which had two useful hits on Steinback,
both referring to him as a "renowned church architect"
and both pertaining to Queen of All Saints in Brooklyn.
Looking at QoAS on the Web one cannot miss the resemblance
to Quigley; and Quigley was begun after All Saints was finished.

Pushing the Web search further, I only found one-and-a-half
other churches by Steinback: Blessed Sacrament on W 71st St,
and the "lower church" of the Church of the Annunciation
in Crestwood (wherever that is). This is not a very good showing
for a "renowned church architect."

Can one of you New-York-based experts help me find
more information about this architect, biographical and/or
list of buildings? I have access to good libraries here in Chicago
but the Web hasn't been much help at all.

p.s. not to be confused with J. G. Steinbach (final H)
who with or without his partner Worthmann designed
dozens of churches and other buildings in Chicago.

Thanks for any help you can give (on list or off).
