A good way to check on what is happening on your computer is to run
"IPCONFIG /ALL" at a command prompt. This will show you the status of your
network connection. Are you sure that the network interface is active on the
new computer? Give us the information that IPCONFIG gives you and we can
better help you. Being an Administrator on your computer is the normal
status, but NOT logging on to the Administrator account. The account should
normally be another username.

I gave ny wife my PC and bought a new one for me. Before this we were
netwoked in our own home with no problems (Verizon DSL Connection) I
connected my new machine to the exsisting internet cable (works fine) took
her od PC out and hooked my old pc to same internet cable that was there but
the PC will not connect, why not? I haven't changed any settings. Both PC's
are running Widows XP Home SP2,\. My question is. is thier some settings I
have to change? Both PC's show me as the Administrater but I can't find a
