Okay I posted a thread on here asking for help with XP wich I think still might be the problem however: I am new to building PC's and think maybe theres hardware issues that I'm not seeing.
Here's the specs.
1. Intel DG965SS micro atx mobo with lga 775 socket
2. Intel core 2 duo 6400 cpu
3. 2 gig patriot ddr2 667 sdram 2 1gig sticks
4. Western digital caviar 320gb SATA hard drive
5. Liteon cd/DVD burner
6. Windows XP professional.
Here's the scoop. Put the pieces together and started her up and it worked fine even after installing XP. I updated the BIOS and drivers for the mobo, and agian everthing worked fine. One fine day the internet was not working after several attempts I figured just reboot the thing and this is the black cloud. XP formated the hardrive now durring the set up process it cannot coppy certain files to the harddrive. VDMINDVD WOWFAX and several of the USR" " files. Microsoft said it was the CD got it replaced still having the same problems. Help Help Help.
