It's really hard to not heat the breads (my downfall is garlic bread) and
other things like cakes and such. But after the last time I ate spaghetti I
became very ill and nauseous. I don't ever want to feel like that again, so
I have an easier time avoiding that kind of food. I never liked rice at
all. Can we eat sweet potatoes and still remain true to paleo?

Hi Trish,
When I first switched from a high carb diet to Atkins it was really hard to
give up bread. Then I switched to Paleo and had to give up all the
processed, low carb foods they make (there was no low carb bread when I
first started Atkins). At first I was craving sweets and bready, doughy
foods, but after a few days those cravings pass. Now I sometimes think about
the consistency of those foods and it would be nice to have them, but it's
not a true craving anymore. Starting Paleo you should feel better and if you
are overweight you will lose weight and that will make it worthwhile.
Go to www.paleofood.com for some interesting paleo recipe and Ray Audette's
book "Neanderthin" has some good recipes in it as well.
If you absolutely have to have something bready you can make stuff from
coconut flour, chestnut flour, or nut meals that isn't bad but I would hold
off on that for now.
