Well, most satellite stuff, even c band, these days is digital of some 
sort.  Direct tv, for example is around 12 gig as I recall.  C band is 
downlinked on 3.7 gig and takes a large dish to get.  I think there are 
portables for xm or serious, but these are also digital and must be 
subscribed to.  In many large cities, they use repeaters as the satellite 
signal is lost in the tall buildings.
