I just use a USB drive as the destination for the backup. The software can
be any backup utility, but I find that the backup program that comes with XP
works just fine for me.

Can anyone recommend a good external drive for backup? I have just
returned the 300GB Maxtor One-Touch III, as I have discovered it does not
back up any system files (which i could live with), or any folders where
you have changed the icon! Why changing the icon would make a difference,
they cannot explain...just that "that's how it works".
