The easy solution to the defrag/scandisk problem is to run these
programs in Safe Mode.
The lock-up problem is more difficult.
How old is the computer? How much RAM? What are you doing when the
problem occurs? Do you have anti-virus and spyware programs installed?
Any error messages?
