We could be more helpful if you included a few more details:
Operating system including state of updates.
Make, model and specs of the computer.
Type of internet connection.
Corrective actions tried.
Browser or download method.
Does this happen under other circumstances?
File sharing is an inherently dangerous past time that includes
potential exposure to virii, trojans and spyware. You might begin by
running a detailed spyware and virus scan.
