I thought the icom ic7000 was receive only!  If so what was the
transmitter pair for this receiver?

the IC-7000 is similar to the IC706, except it has onboard vidio, and a
much
more advanced and feature rich display department.
It also has things like the voice chip, digital recorder and all DSP
functions built in...I have also found that the IC7000 is a great
sounding
HF rig, on tx anyway, and VHF UHF as well.
Not sure what the receiver is like, though a local Ham who has been in
the
broadcast audio business for 40 years says he loves the receive audio
quality as well as the sensativity...this coming from a guy who trys
every
new radio that comes out and has for the last 20 years or so.
