The v7 works great on the aircraft band. I live near Washington DC and
there's lots of stuff to listen to here. One trick you can use to find the
freqs in your area is to do a 1 megaherts scan of the 121 frequencies. This
will let you listen to the national emergency freq of 121.5, the popular CAP
freq of 121.6 and the most popular ground freqs of 121.7, 121.8, annd 121.9
Mhz. Of course to hear the ground freqs you need to be close to the
airport, but listening to these will help you find the tower freqs and all
the other freqs. Sometimes it is interesting to listen to the popular
chit-chat frequency of 123.45.

Good listening - Ken -N5SWR

Hi guys,

Thanks for the info. It worked of course. Did anyone ever try using the Am

mode on this rig? If so, how well does it work?

    Ron:

I did this once, by mistake, so don't despair!

All you need to do is press the "center" button part of the tuning knob, and
miraculously, the radio will go back into FM mode. I was just about ready
to send my TMV7A to Kenwood for servicing, and this fixed the problem. How
I figured it out, I don't remember, but this should solve your problem.

Let me know if it does.
