I think some of the older Icom's including the 751 need an optional unit
to allow connection to, and control by, a pc. Don't know if Icom still
sells this item, but there are aftermarket units out there and probably
cheaper.
I know it's hard to resist, but until you know what you are doing, I'd be
careful about just pushing buttons to see what happens. Besides changing
things you may have to undo later, you also run the risk of putting the rig
into transmit. Besides being a violation at this point, you could also do
damage depending on band, power setting and condition of antenna. Not
sure you can put it into tx witha button push, like a Kenwood, but i'd be
careful.
