Many thanks for the responses to Lincoln NE restaurants and groceries.  Below is a summary of responses I rec'd.

Yesterday I checked a book out of the library called Healthy Highways by 
Nikki and David Goldbeck.

My mom lives in Lincoln and is gluten-free.  I know the Open Harvest health 
food store carries some gluten-free products, as do the health food sections 
of Hy-Vee grocery stores.  The Hy-Vee on the north side of town is supposed 
to have a wider selection.  About 1 hour away, Omaha has a larger Wild Oats 
store.

I would also be interested to know about restaurants.  She has eaten at 
several places and just had to ask a lot of questions.  I know Lazlo's has 
been helpful and of course there are several chain restaurants there, such 
as Outback Steakhouse, which has a gluten-free menu.

There is an Akins Food Store on 66th and O St.  They are wonderful, have a 
good selection of gluten free items, and the staff is pretty knowledgable 
about everything.  I have always had a good experience there.  Also, the 
HyVee on 70th and Pioneers has a health food market, and they have put 
little orange flags on many of the gluten free items they carry there, 
making it very easy to find items.  The HyVee on 27th and Pine Lake also has 
a health food market.

I had a wonderful experience at the LoneStar steakhouse on 70th and O just 2 
weeks ago.  The cooks actually sent the waiter out to check if it was Celiac 
Disease.
