Two problems with a linksys wrt545g router.

Q1
 I am unable to browse to certain websites, which use to work, before I plugged the cable modem into the linksys router, and connected the router to the PC via Ethernet. sites like www.bbc.co.uk load, but sites like www.pcadvisor.co.uk do not load.
ping www.pcadvisor.co.uk shows that the remote PC is active.
What setting on the linksys router could be wrong.
Cable modem , NTL UK ISP. Windows 2000 Service pack 4

Q2
I set up the Linksys Router and enabled it's wireless settings. No security for initial testing.

However when I use the wireless adapter on the advent 7102 laptop I do not get a indication of the linksys router being an available wireless network, that can be connected to. And no other networks if there are any in my local neighbourhood show up.

What would cause the laptop not to see the router ?

laptop runs windows XP home edition sp2
desktop / router windows 2000 sp4
