My floppy disk drive (A) and floppy disk controller, when looking under device manager, are indicated as working properly. I'm running XP Pro/SP2.Under "Standard floppy disk controller properties,it says the floppy controller location is on “SIS PCI to ISA bridge”. Driver date is 7/1/2001, version 5.1.2600.2180. When I clicked on "Update Driver",the result was that there was no driver to update to, i.e.,apparently the driver is OK. Under Disk Drives on -Device Manager- it only lists IOMEGA ZIP100(B:) & ST3160023A (C:,my hard drive). Shouldn’t floppy A: be listed also? Two more things: I checked the connections, and they are OK--including that the strap connection is not backwards; and, the light on the floppy is ALWAYS on, which obviously is not right. Any idea on how I can troubleshoot this? The "Troubleshoot..." button under the floppy drive and the controller did not help. Thanks very much.
