If all you want to do is to transfer (encode to an AVI format) VHS to the
computer, most video cards now support that function. The following has
excellent information to help you make a good decision.

I have a Dell 3000 pc with a 2.8Ghz Pent4 chip. I would like to transfer vhs
tapes(video and sound) to my harddrive. Iwould like to keep the price of the
video card under $150. Any help would be gratefull. Mike Connery
