>Apologies if your question has already been answered. Compaq (now HP) has an extensive library of material on its support site. Its manuals are called Technical Reference Guides - they cover a wide array of topics including troubleshooting, removal and replacement of components, diagnostics and passwords. Many of the Technical Reference Guides may be found at these sites: <http://search.hp.com/gwuseng/query.html?col=hpcom+ccen&qs=&qc=&la=en&qm=0&st=1&lk=1&rf=2&uf=1&qt=Compaq+Notebooks+Technical+Reference+Guides&submitsearch.x=6&submitsearch.y=4> <http://h20000.www2.hp.com/bizsupport/TechSupport/Product.jsp?locale=en_US&contentType=SupportManual&docIndexId=179166&prodTypeId=321957&prodCatId=82710&prodSubCatId=89335> If you are not experienced at disassembling notebooks, a useful trick is to obtain a piece of thick corrugated cardboard - when you remove a screw, punch it into the cardboard at the same location. It makes assembly much easier with screws of different lengths and threads.
