I have a video card, bought new 6/16/2004 but, NEVER used.
(I solved the problem it was bought for before it arrived.)
Info from the sticker on the box:
Chaintech slmx4000, GeForce mx400, agp8x, 64mb ddr, 32bit
A couple questions:
Is a GeForce mx4000 (mine)
the same as a GeForce4 mx4000 (notice the extra 4)...
It seems to show up on some sites one way OR the other,
but never both...
What would be a good driver for this card?
I tried the nvidia.com site and think I got the right one, but their
site is very different from my experience with ATI...
More background info I tried:
The Chaintech site - this exact card,
<http://www.chaintechusa.com/tw/eng/product_spec.asp?MPSNo=14&PISNo=257>
Video Driver page/link:
<http://www.chaintechusa.com/tw/eng/Download/dl_desc.asp?DCSNo=5&PISNo=257>
but there are NO files listed (as of 11/26-29) so that page is little or no help <grin>...
I asked them to check the page, but noticed there are lots of broken pages
in most of their WEB sites worldwide...
(And it is possibly to soon to have heard back from them...)
I went other places and tried to ID any drivers that might "fit", but have
had "lingering" problems with installing the wrong driver for ATI cards in
the past (different machine) and do not want to go down that road again. <grin>.
(The main reason I wanted to switch brands was driver related!)
Requests for additional info, (or or offlist), are welcome...
