Kathy,You talk about bad parenting, then there was David. When I was living
near the U.S. Border in Ontario for 8 months a few years ago, I heard either
Chuck Swindoll, or David Jeremiah do a whole series about parenting, they
talked about David. That whole situation about Amonon and absolom
What a mess.
Notice, that none of that gets remembered about David. He is a man
aafterGod's own heart. later on in the New Testament.
Going off on a bit of a tangent, Did you ever notice in the Geniologies in
Matthew, that it says: " (mat. 1-6) And David begat Solomon of her that had
been the wife of Uriah. It was like he couldn't mention her Bathsheba's
name. God was kind of saying In my interepretation, "ouch."
Just my opinion.
Nevertheless, Though David and Jacob messed up, He doesn't remember that
anymore. But The lessons of the Word will always speak to us. One of the
most important scriptures in the New Testament is in 1 Cor 10-11, referring
back to the first ten verses of that chapter, "now all these things happened
unto them for ensamples; and they are written for our admonition, upon whom
the ends of the world are come.
