Actually, the power output does talk on the 480.  That is, one can set the 
maximum out put.  I do wish it would read SWR, however.  I am quite certain 
there is no equal out there which gives as much feedback to us blindfolks.

Though I'll not speak for others, I prefer it to the Kenwood TS2000 which I 
owned a few years ago.  I also agree that my Icom 746-pro is a better 
performer; but I use the 480 practically all the time.
