well, I've tried many logging programs on mine, I'm set up in the corner of
my bedroom and I still run a dedicated computer for my radio desk for taking
NTS messages, looking up people I talk to, logging, packet, I do a little
PSK-31 though am still working on how to do it well with out voices going
out on the air, might have a way though, the 2 sound card thing seems to
work. I'm running an old laptop for that though, no RFI issues, I don't have
much room for a desktop system there and that computer's always been good to
me from my college days on to now and I didn't need anything fancy though I
don't use window eyes so I can't help you there but I'd think most of what
works with jaws for logging works with WE as well and for the DX cluster
should you want it, I use winpack for packet and that will voice stuff on
the DX cluster and connects and stuff, it won't read the text if you get
messages but you can use the arrow keys with your screen reader and it works
very well for that even and I even went completely to that for packet now
for a lot of nice features it has. In fact, that computer had a hard drive
problem back in the fall and I decided to wait until I had a little extra
money to replace the computer and eventually came to the conclusion I missed
it so much that I fixed it and got it back in line with in a couple weeks.

Subject: computer in the shack

Soon I am going to be able to install a dedicated computer in the shack.
This brings up a number of questions, in the vein of what to do with
a computer in the shack?
I am running windows XP Pro, will have an Internet connection,
window-eyes 5.5, IE and Firefox.
So, hear are a few questions.

1. What loging software works well with that setup?
2. What has anybody done with a ts480 and a computer?
3. Does psk31 work, and if yes, is it worth it?
4. I hear their is self voicing dx cluster software out
there? Anybody tried it?

In summary, now that I can, why should I do it?
How hard is it to run the 480 on cw from the computer keyboard?
