Some friends of mine did the helium balloon trick for a 160 meter contest.
They went to a friend's cabin that had no power lines for 13 miles.  They
ran about a 130 foot wire up with the balloon for support and tied bunches
of ground wires to the base.  they heard and worked stuff they never heard
in town that weekend.  There was no noise and not even from their generator.
