a router is much better for stuff like that, not that hard to configure. the
adapter just plugs in to an open Ethernet port and you plug the phone in to
it and the phone works, they make routers even with the phone adapter built
in now.

I'm thinking I should've gotten a router instead of a switch. The guy at the
computer store said it ends up being harder to set up, but does provide more
security. Does this adapter act like a router that you could hook one of the
computers to a second net port and be behind it like the vonage one claims
to? I could put the other system that I am only using to get files from
behind the adapter and everything should work as it does now.
