Hi John;
Maybe the problem is simply that I haven't used this filter in quite a
while. I tried a full reset and nothing changed. Since the filter is
operating just fine I guess I'll be a happy customer. The manual seems to
suggest that the radio will select the correct filter which leaves me
wondering why they put in that set of menu choices. I very much wish that
the 570 would let you plug in two if filters but some things can't be
changed. Thanks for comparing notes.
Rich

That's strange because I have no filters in mine and when I hit the filter
button nothing happens, if I use the multi function knob it just changes
frequency. maybe you don't need to turn on menu 46? maybe something's up
with my radio?

I am still fiddling with the 570 and I may have to do the unthinkable and
hunt up the book. When I go to menu 46 and select no filter I can still hit
the filter button and change the band width. When I select the filter
option in menu 46 and hit the dreaded filter button absolutely nothing seems
to change. Either there is a problem with the cw filter which is doubtful
or I'm leaving out a very basic step.
