I had it bad - 359 out of 360 permissible. IIRC this was ferritin level.
I don't know what caused it, but suspect mineral deficiency.

IP6 is the only sane way to fix the problem.
I tried phlebotomy (sp?) first, resulted in terrifying breathlessness.
