Hey Brad,
You can do it pretty cheaply too.  Every drugstore has  blood
pressure equipment and places often offer  cholesterole  screenings
for promotions of one sort or another.  It just means paying
attention to advertizing from places like health clubs and the like.
          I hear what you mean about having to pay for medical
issues.  We're having coverage issues right now ourselves, but the
more information that you can gather about yourself while you are,
"normal," so to speak, the better off you will be when you are
sick.  It's interesting that so many people think that you don't need
to bother with a doctor unless you are sick.  The don't realize how
smart it is to begin the relationship with the doctor while you are healthy.
