It is likely that your extension cord is either a 9-way serial cable
or a non-bidirectional printer cable, in which case what you need
is either a correctly wired printer extension cable or a fully-populated
25 way pin-for-pin serial cable.
Or you could buy a pair of DB25 IDC connectors and a short piece of flat cable
and put together your own adaptor using a bench vice (vise?).
I find this approach better than a rigid adaptor because it puts
less leverage on the backpanel connectors.
