I added CDRW and DVD rom drives to my HP D2000 w/ 2.8 ghz celeron, 1 GB ram,
40 gb hd and win xp sp 2. I can play cds and dvds fine thru the speakers
and onboard sound. Neither headphone jack on the drives will produce any
sound. I've checked all the settings on the sound screens, can't see anything to
change. Tried setting one drive to digital and one to analog, no change.
Don't see anything in the bios or device properties. Do the drives disable
the headphone jacks when a sound cable is plugged in ? Volume is up, mute
is off.
