Hi Bao,
I have a similar setup,
Asus P4P800E Deluxe motherboard
Intel P4 2.8E (Prescott, 800Mhz FSB)
1Gb DDR400 (PC3200) RAM (4 sticks)
Maxtor 120Gb ATA-133 disk drive.
ATI Radeon 9600XT All In Wonder video card
Sony DRU-710A 16X dual format dual layer DVD+/-RW drive
I have it overclocked to 3.2Ghz, and I like the system. Very reliable, lots
of features.
Of course, what the intended use for the system is depends a lot. If it is
for serious gaming, the 9250 video card probably won't cut it with todays
games, in that case, I would recommend a 9800 or better. Also, many gamer's
believe that an AMD platform (like an Athlon 64) is better for games. Now
if your friend intends to use it for general purpose use, then what you
listed sounds reasonable to me.
