For a cheap antenna, you could make a jay pole out of 300 ohm twin lead.
If the radio you're getting is 50 watts or so, you'll need about a 6 amp
supply.  You need to see what the radio says it requires.  I seriously
doubt if rat shack carries anything that bit any more.
