This certainly rings a bell! I became lactose intolerant at the age of
four and the medical profession had a tough time dealing with it then
too. That was more than 25 years ago. There are still certain members
of my family who think I am doing this for attention.

Have you tried the chewable lactase tablets? I know Nature's Plus makes
them because I have used their product fairly recently. The tablets are
kind of chalky but they are sweet enough that a child might be willing to
take them. They certainly taste better than squirting Lactaid drops into
your mouth, which is what I used to do.
Years ago, before I started buying lactase supplements in the health food
stores, I used to buy a chewable at a drug store. I think it was called
Dairy Ease. I was not very happy with it. That was part of what
motivated me to try health food stores.
