>From Lynnet:

From another post, you said you were losing weight
and this was bad
because you're already thin. So why go zero-carb?

If you want to avoid grains, make friends with root
vegetables. A little temperate-zone fruit wouldn't
hurt.

Mike:
I am have a lot of allergy problems. I think that
much of my allergies or adverse reactions to foods is
due cross-reactivities to pollen and ragweed for
certain food groups. (My allergies became much worse
a few years back when I moved to a rural area amongst
corn, wheat and soybean fields.) I also find that the
starch in most roots give me more trouble than the
starch in rice. Right now fruit is the worst for me.
My interest in no carb is to try to address my
allergies, asthma and digestive problems. This past
summer I spent a while (2 months) eating almost
nothing but meat (vegetables included with dinner). I
was increasing muscle mass but I wasn't sleeping well.
 I was very high protein.

You mentioned that I am eating around twice as much
protein as needed. That is why I originally asked my
question about excess protein consumption. I find
that I have to careful about the type of fat and when
I eat the fat.

Mike
