When I was a kid, in Evanston, Illinois, there were still
hurdy-gurdy players on the streets.
In high school just about my favorite poem was
"The barrel organ" by Alfred Noyes.
I guess it has fallen out of literary fashion,
but you are allowed to judge for yourself:
