Toni, since that's an fm only radio its really intended for repeater use but
with the right antenna you can dx with it keeping in mind that 2m and 703m
aren't exactly long distance bands.  its actually 50w on 2m and 35w on 70cm.  I
have that particular rig and really like it.  If you want distance communication
you need an hf rig.  Your antenna is really more important than your power.  I
often do dx qrp with 5w.
