I'm now gearing up for travels across the northern prairies, where the
roads are straight, the buildings few and far between, and the folks
friendly as ever.
South Dakota in September: Saving Windows at Savo Hall, Pump Station at
Yankton. 3-day window preservation training sessions, free, open to the
public, travel and lodging expenses paid for tradespeople and contractors
Nebraska in November: Keynote at Restore Omaha conference. Story time:
sod house cottonwoods outside Atkinson, mining black walnut along
Weeping Water Crik, making paint for grandma's house, acorn to
timberframe, woodcarving with Keats, long lost hayseed makes his way
back home, etc.

John Leeke,
American Preservationeer
by hammer and hand great works do stand
by pen and thought best words are wrought
by mind and heart we share the art
