kenwood doesn't make the ft1000, yaesu does.
at any rate, as i posted below, it doesn't read PL tones.
it reads menu numbers and the state of the menu item, on off, or a b c d e
sub menus.
It reads dx cluster information, it reads signal, frequency, tells you mode
with the first letter of the mode in CW, speaks MR when you are in memory
mode and the channel number and frequency.
it does not speak power level, mike level, carier level or PL...and it won't
speak things like noise blanker level, AGC level all that kind of
stuff...those are easy enough to set with the beeps at either end of the
scale anyway.
