Does the tm-g707a receive out-of-band such as weather and the like?

Hi all,

What are the differences between the tmv-7a and the tmg-7a?

Is one an older radio?  Looks like they are both very accessible judging by 
a quick look at the manual on the Icanworkthisthing site.
