For my base station equipment I'll always use the astron rs-35M or maybe
upgrade to a 50M if the need arises though it hasn't yet, I'm close though
but anyway the samlex makes a great one for my portable setup if I want to
use it on AC power, absolutely no noise even with horrible setups and the
thing doesn't even get warm. It would be a good backup if the astron goes
down even I think though I'm not sure I could run full power on HF with all
the other stuff I run full time off it like scanner, 2 meter/440 radio,
packet radio and TNC, and GMRS radio on the mass notification network.
