that happened to me with an old radio shack scanner.
It fell straight in, and after i fished it out, cleaned it out and gave it
the old hair dryer treatment and let the board and speaker dry out, it still
worked..but, it never really worked quite right after that.
I gave it away and the person i gave it to kept telling me it was a crappy
scanner...hmmm, they didn't know how close to the truth they were hi hi.
