Any of the dates proceeding 2000 can be entered by the last two digits.
Otherwise you have to specify the proper date in order for the calendar to
recognize your entery.

I am not sure of the vintage of my Sharp calculator but I can put the
current year in. I do have to put in the four digits for the year, the
month and the day. It is possible that mine is slightly newer. 73
