the D700 has cross band repeat just as the TM V7A and the 708 both have.
I have heard how ever that the cross band audio isn't that good...but, there
is a modification to fix that from www.mods.dk
From what i have done with the TM V7A, the cross band is great on that
radio, audio is nice and clean and you can adjust the hang time in the
menus.
This is great if you want to cross band from UHF onto VHF to a repeater so
you can use a low power handheld around the house and talk on a more distant
VHF repeater...or viseversa
