Based on the computer details, I doubt that it has a separate video card.
The video is likely onboard which means loading the correct video driver for
Windows XP off the CD that came with the computer. I too can't answer the
modem question and if no answer is forthcoming from this group, you may have
to query US Robotics.

If you installed XP over the top of ME rather than a "clean" install, you
should be able to locate and use your address book and bookmarks. Again if
no definitive answer is forthcoming, you may be able to find out how to use
the previous files through the Microsoft Knowledge Base at www.microsoft.com

I think what happened to your video is that you haven't installed the driver
for your video card, so it is running on the default windows vga colors. Go
to your video card manufacturer's web site and download the latest XP driver
for your model.  If it is a more recent nvidia or ATI, or one of the many
clones of those, it will be easy to doubleclick on the downloaded file and
update the driver.  If it is an older card you may need to go to the "my
computer" icon, right click it and choose properties.  Then choose device
manager.  In device manager choose display adapters then properties.  On the
driver tab choose update driver and follow the instructions.  If you don't
know what kind of video card you have it will tell you in device manager.
AS for your other issue I have no idea.
