The mercenary judge have delayed the judgement to set her free. In pledge of her freedom this poem was sent to my mail as part of the campaign for her release. The authors name is removed as an instruction for fear of prosecution.
MARIAM
Incarcerated in a lowly cell
Held incommunicado, isolated & lonely
The isolation a form of mental torture
To change your walk and your talk
To change how you think
To change what you believe in.
Yet not despairing, desperate or dejected
Spirits uplifted by your faith in Allah the Almighty
Isn't it ironic that you are locked in a place
Where you strove so hard to free your clients from?
Legal luminary
First Gamiban female to don the lawyer's gown & wig
Your achievements notwithstanding
You remain down to earth
Humble, approachable & respectful.
Loyal and faithful wife
Caring and loving mother and daughter
Mindful and connecting relative & friend
Promoter of women and children's rights
Defender of human rights
Your rights have been abrogated
While, we stand aside helpless & hapless
Unable to provide you with solace
My heart bleeds for my sister
My thoughts and prayers are with you
May you rise, rise, rise, rise
To leave behind the nights of darkness & terror
To leave behind the filth & dirt
To rise with faith, hope and renewed zest
To start life afrest
